Daily Itinerary
  • DAY 01

    Arrive at Leh

    Arrive Delhi by late night or very early morning and upon arrival connect flight to Leh (3500m) by flight. The flight to Ladakh is an amazing experience as one flies over the imposing Himalayan range offering breathtaking views. KVT representative will meet you at the airport and will transfer you to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for acclimatization and in the evening stroll around in the market area.. (Meals: Nil)

  • DAY 02

    Leh Sightseeing

    Today we will do the local exploration, visiting Leh Palace and nine storied palace (built in 1553). One can have a beautiful view of Leh city and surrounding mountains. Then, we visit Shanti Stupa which is a Buddhist white-domed stupa (chorten) on a hilltop in Chanspa. This was built by Japanese monks to promote world peace. The Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama himself. Afterward, proceed to Shankar Gompa - it is a subsidiary of Spituk Monastery and belongs to the Gelugpa Sect. We also visit Namgyal Tsemo Monastery perched on a hilltop from where we have a bird’s-eye view of the Leh city. The Gompa has a three-storey high solid gold statue of Matireya Buddha and ancient manuscripts and frescoes. Later we visit the bazaar (local market) of Leh. After that come back to the hotel and relax. (Meals: Breakfast)

  • DAY 03

    Drive to Shang Sumdo (3850m), en-route Shey Palace, Thiksey and Hemis Monasteries

    Today we drive to Shang Sumdo (‘Sumdo’ means confluence) en-route visiting Shey Palace – a monastery known for its giant copper with gilded gold statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha. It is said to be the second largest such statue in Ladakh. Then we visit the famous Thiksey Monastery - located on top of a hill. This monastery resembles the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. Thiksey monastery houses a large statue of Buddha and this is one of the most frequently visited monasteries in Ladakh. Later we head to Hemis Monastery - a Tibetan Buddhist monastery (gompa) of the Drukpa Lineage. The monastery holds the distinction of being the biggest as well as the wealthiest monastery of Ladakh. Then we continue our drive towards Shang Sumdo, the starting point of the trek where we will meet our local trekking team. (Driving Time: 2.5 – 3.5 hrs / Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

  • DAY 04

    1st Day Trekking: Trek to Chogdo (4600m)

    This morning after breakfast we get ready for the beginning of our trek and the trail goes upwards alongside the river. We reach to our campsite where we camp for the night and relax.(Trekking Time: 5 – 6 hrs / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

  • DAY 05

    2nd Day Trekking: Trek to Nimaling (4800m), en-route Konmaru La

    Today we follow the trail that goes to the village of Chukirmo and after passing through the village we enter into a gorge; after the gorge we walk along a stream. Then we start a steep ascent that goes up to the pass of Konmaru La (5200m); cross the pass and descent through a zigzag path that goes to Nimaling our next campsite for the night. (Trekking Time: 6 – 7 hrs / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

  • DAY 06

    3rd Day Trekking: Trek to Langtang Chu (4250m)

    This morning after breakfast we start our day by following the trail that goes to our campsite Langtang Chu. On the way one can have the spectacular views of Kang Yatze peak (6400m), the highest peak in the valley. We pass through a small lake and then the trail descent along the stream entering to the Hemis National Park which has wild animals like Ibex, Snow Leopard, Blue Sheep, Ladakh Urial, marmots etc. Reach Langtang Chu and relax in the tents.(Trekking Time: 4 – 5 hrs / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

  • DAY 07

    4th Day Trekking: Trek to Yakrupal (4700m)

    Morning after breakfast the trail goes up to the large valley which later goes along a stream; we cross the stream and keep on walking along the wall of moraine. We reach to the campsite Yakrupal and relax in the tents. (Trekking Time: 4 – 5 hrs / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

  • DAY 08

    5th Day Trekking: Trek to Sorra (4200m), en-route Zalung Karpo La

    Today we start trekking by following the trail that goes ups and downs; then we start ascending to reach the top of the pass Zalung Karpo La (5150m). From the top one can have breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and then we descent to the valley floor and reach our campsite Sorra where we camp for the night.(Trekking Time: 5 – 6 hrs / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

  • DAY 09

    6th Day Trekking: Trek to Dat (4200m)

    This day we have breakfast and then start our trek that begins with crossing woody gorges; on the way we cross Sorra Chu (‘Chu’ means River) and cross several Chortens (Stupas) and Manis (Stone carved with hyms); then we walk through the valley and reach to our campsite Dat. (Trekking Time: 5 – 6 hrs / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

  • DAY 10

    7th Day Trekking: Trek to Lungmoche (4010m), en-route Yar La

    Morning we follow the trail that leads us to our campsite Lungmoche; as we start walking towards the plateau of Rupshu and Changthang and the trail to reach the pass of Yar La (4950m) is not hard and not so tiring. Once we reach the top of the pass we will be delighted by the prayer flags, Mani stone and then a gradual descent will bring us to the pasture land of the Lungmoche where we camp for the night. (Trekking Time: 6 – 7 hrs / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

  • DAY 11

    8th Day Trekking: Trek to Lun (4100m)

    This morning we begin walking and reach to the village of Sangth en-route we have chance to meet some Tibetan Nomads. After crossing the village we follow the trail that goes along the stream and we reach our campsite Lun where camp for the night. (Trekking Time: 5 – 6 hrs / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

  • DAY 12

    9th Day Trekking: Trek to Takh (4600m), en-route Morang La

    Today after breakfast we head towards Morang La (5300m). We walk through the plateau and then start a steep ascent towards the pass, reach at the top and blessed with magnificent views of the surrounding mountain range. Afterwards we will descent towards our campsite at Takh where we will be camping for the night. (Trekking Time: 6 – 7 hrs / Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

  • DAY 13

    10th Day Trekking: Trek to Sarchu, Drive to Manali

    This morning we have breakfast and start trekking towards Sarchu (the road head). We start with a short trek and cross the bridge; finally reach Sarchu where our trek ends. We will board the waiting vehicle for the long way drive towards Manali (Approx. 210kms), en-route crossing the mighty pass of Baralacha La (4890m). Manali, at the northern end of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, is a hill station situated at a height of 2050m in the Himalayas. We reach Manali by late evening and check-in to the hotel.(Trekking Time: 3 – 4 hrs / Driving Time: 5.5 – 6.5 hrs / Meals: Breakfast)

  • DAY 14

    Free Day at Manali

    Today we have a free day at Manali to explore the beautiful hill station and its surroundings on our own. Optional a sightseeing tour of Manali can be arranged at additional cost. Whereby we will visit Hidimba Temple - it is an ancient cave temple which is surrounded by a beautiful cedar forest. It is a famous temple in Manali and visited by many tourists every year. Later we visit the sacred village of Vashisht. The village has a temple dedicated to sage Vashisht who finds mention in Rig Veda, the oldest religious book of Hindus. Then we drive towards Naggar which used to be the capital of Kullu. Upon arrival we visit Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery who was the reputed Russian artist and the gallery houses his rare paintings.(Meals: Breakfast)

  • DAY 15

    Depart Kullu, Arrive Delhi

    After breakfast we will be transferred to Bhuntar Airport for flight to Delhi. A KVT representative will meet you at the airport and assist you to the vehicle. Later transfer to hotel. (Meals: Breakfast)

  • DAY 16

    Depart Delhi

    After breakfast transfer to airport for international flight back to home country. (Meals: Breakfast)
